My goals, my obstacles, and everything in between

I took my first Spanish class in seventh grade. Ever since that day, I have gained an incredible appreciation for the language and a great desire to learn more. Seven years later, my desire has held strong. I have taken Spanish throughout the entirety of high school and now two years in college. Although these classes have gone very well and I have enjoyed them, I realized that just taking classes alone is not enough. I want to immerse myself in the language and the culture which it contains.

  1. Life of COOP!

Dude so cool to check out your blog. You've got some amazing photos and great writing man. So cool to see how your viaje al norte is coming along.

And hey speaking of great writing, I just finished Born to Run last night. WOW man thank you so much for passing that book on to me. What a story! I haven't gotten hooked into a book like that in a while. It came at an awesome time for me, I must say. Reading it as I finish this bike ride solo style has been a great opportunity to realize the huge hole in my life that running should fill. I have always been a natural runner, always the fastest kid on the playground, fastest kid on the football team, always finding myself somehow magically with more endurance than my compadres... I need to run more. And you helped me realize that I am born to run! Not just personally but as a human being! The art of running is our gift! Thank you so much Coop, you have affected my life in a seriously positive direction. I've been trotting around barefooted lately and absolutely loving it.

AND I haave found the perfect recipient for the hand off. My buddy Benjamin, the only Chilean that I knew before this trip, is an amazing endurance dude as well. He is a major runner and swimmer and climber. I am staying at his house in Punta Arenas right now, and he is super stoked to read born to run. He said he had heard about the book before and has been searching for it for ages. And here it comes right to him, straight (well maybe not straight, a little crooked and zig zagged) from Nevada.

Alright dude enjoy the travels and keep spreading the love! Big abrazos for you amigo!
